Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the advantage of pre-ordering an item?

Many of the pre-order items are limited edition collectibles and stock will be limited. Some collectibles sell out before they are in stock. By pre-ordering, you basically are making sure you will receive the product you want before it sells out.

2. Are my payments secure?

Yes, all of our transactions are encrypted using industry standard equipment to ensure that only we see your private information.

3. How long until I receive my order?

Depending on the shipping method you chose, anywhere from 2 to 10 days.

4. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Discover, and MasterCard), as well as Personal Checks and Money Orders. Checks and Money Orders may take longer depending on the postal service. If you plan on paying by Check, or Money Order, you must e-mail me first, through the "contact us" form.

5. Do I have to pay Sales Tax?

Only certain states must pay sales tax, you will be notified if taxes apply to your order before completing the checkout.

6. Can I just pick up my order in person?

Sorry, but Matthew's Toy Store is an online toy store and does not have a retail location for customers to visit. At this time, orders can only be placed online.

7. What does "Special Order" mean?

This means that the items are IN STOCK at the distributor and will be ordered from them when a customer makes an order. It usually takes 2 weeks for an item to get here by Special Order.

8. What does "Special Order-On Backorder" mean?

This means that the item is not in stock at the warehouse, but can be ordered. Occasionally, we will wait until we have a number of orders to make the PO large enough to ship. I'd say most of the time, we're able to get the items, but there will be cases that the item may not be available by the time we place the order with the distributor. If this happens, you will be notified and your money refunded. This is rare though.
